Because my friends all have lives without me, and my boyfriend works a billion hours a week, I decided to go to my parent's house today to visit with my mom, dad and younger sister, Erinn.
I had a fabulous time, and enjoyed spending time with them. We ended up heading down to Reston Town Center for a little shopping. We managed to get some fabulous deals.
I got two pairs of jeans from The Gap. Both pairs cost only 52 dollars total. For both. Score.
I also bought this adorable winter hat from Banana Republic
Not only that, but I picked up a really cute star shaped serving bowl from Pottery Barn and a lovely new flat screen TV for my bedroom. My parents just recently ordered a new one, and are allowing me to borrow their old one for the time being. It's not a 60 inch TV by any means, but it will certainly suffice in my bedroom.
On my way home, I decided to stop at Ikea for one last purchase. If I'm going to have a new TV in my bedroom, I need something to put it on. I have been contemplating the purchase of a dresser for about a year now. I don't necessarily need anymore space for my clothes, but I am in desperate need of storage. I figure, instead of getting a TV stand, this dresser will work for both storage and a place to put my TV. So, instead of clothes, it may be filled with Christmas Decorations, but oh well.
Going solo to Ikea is a story for another day. I had to make puppy eyes at two separate groups of guys just to get this 200 pound dresser into my small little Jetta. I probably should have waited for a time that I could go accompanied by my big strong boyfriend, but Ikea is right on the way home from my parents so of course I went.
I must now start my spending vacation (i.e. vacation from spending money), although truth be told, I picked up some great deals today while bonding with the family.
Now, it's time for some beer and football. I never thought I'd say this but, GO Jacksonville!
