Living Arrangements

Believe it or not, I'm a pretty crafty, domestic kind of girl.

I can cook, I love to clean, and I garden.

I enjoy crafts (although not stamping and scrap booking- think more along the lines of heavy duty work such as painting walls, tiling a floor, decorating furniture and so on), and have been longing to design a mosaic table for over 2 years now (no space).

For the past oh, what seems like many years, I've been stuck in an apartment, and it doesn't look like I'm going to get out anytime soon. However, if everything works out, I will be upgrading. I'm currently in a one bedroom, but once boyfriend moves in, we are taking a step-up and going for two bedrooms/two baths.

Obviously, I'm thinking about decorating (boyfriend has his own ideas. They involve the words red velvet couch and removing all things purple, yellow and red. puke. gag. me).

Anyways, I was reading Redbook last night (seriously, could I sound anymore like a mid forty year old?)... and I came across this picture.

Now, for the most part, I'm not a huge fan of wallpaper. But, when you can't paint and you can't afford a Picasso, I'm thinking that this is one fabulous idea. Boyfriend and I have not discussed it yet, but I'm hoping that he gives me the okay. I think that it would look fabulous anywhere and it's completely budget friendly. What's one roll of wallpaper and a bunch of box frames (it's not much boyfriend, please please okay this one)?

Anyways, in a search for wallpaper (I love the green toile going on in that picture, but boyfriend's a wildcard, I'm sure) I found this purple damask that I love.

I'm all about damask lately--and yes, I know it's a little much, but think small cut outs on little frames.

I texted boyfriend and asked if he would be opposed a large purple mural in our new apartment.

His response- "Morally, yes."

Fabulous.

Does anyone out know of any fabulous wallpaper designers out there?

Redskins wallpaper need not apply.

Do read Real Simple magazine? They did an article on wallpaper a few months ago with some different designers (one had damask prints). I think you can also go to their site www.realsimple.com and do a search for wallpaper to bring up the article.
