My 27th

Now, it's time for the birthday wrap-up.

I started off the day at work. Unfortunately, I work at a place where the week of my birthday is a mandatory work week. That means, no sick days and no vacation days on my birthday. Ever.

So the morning was spent listening to a lawyer drone on and on about ethics and school psychology. That may be fun for some people, but not me. Especially considering the fact that I had to listen to all of that in graduate school only two years ago.

After the in-service, my fellow school psych friends Mari, Allie, and Kristin took me out to lunch at Lemongrass-- a fabulous Thai place in town.

After lunch, I came home and spent a few hours at the pool with my friend Noelle.

At about 4:30, Allie and Mari picked me up and whisked me off to an afternoon at the spa. They treated me to an ultimate facial-- two hours of massage, masks and cleansing. I was a little bit worried about it (b/c I've never had one), but it ended up being very relaxing.

After the spa treatment, I walked up into the apartment to find this-- and boyfriend.

(That's the Orchard Skirt from DownEast Basics).

Boyfriend and I went out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants and then we came home to open presents. Here's some present pics, but unlike the sewing pics, do not click on them to make them bigger. I was looking rough at the end of the night (after a two hour facial--where most of the oil ended up in my hair rather than on my face).

Boyfriend's sister and brother bought me a Steelers throwback helmet, and his parents got me this super cute Vera Bradley purse. I'm excited to add that to my collection.

Boyfriend got me this card, which we swear was a picture of Snap stolen from my computer. What a cutie.

Boyfriend went above and beyond and got me one of the shirts that I wanted from Ann Taylor Loft and a pair of pants. The only bad part of the evening was when I tried on the pants (in my usual size) and couldn't even remotely button them. Serious dieting must start tomorrow.

Boyfriend also got me tickets to see the Steelers play the Colts in Pittsburgh in November. This may not sound good to you, but it was a perfect gift for me! I love Peyton Manning and the Steelers, so boyfriend blew up a picture of Peyton and Ben and framed it. Inside the frame was two tickets to the game and a picture of the hotel that we will be staying at.

I'm totally looking forward to our weekend away together!

I'm seriously blessed with some amazing friends and a fabulous boyfriend.

Looks like you had a great birthday even though you had to work. Eric's b-day is Aug. 19th and he grew up hating his b-day because it meant school was starting again. Now, he works on a college campus so he still has to deal with school starting back on his b-day! Love the Vera bag & the Down East skirt. I haven't bought anything from there yet. I spent too much money at the Loft today (btw all sale items are an extra 30% off!!!!) so I probably won't be buying anything else for a while. Send me an e-mail at with your name and I'll add you on facebook!
