Blizzard, Please!

It snowed for approximately 5 minutes today. It was very beautiful and I look forward to many snow days this season. Since the brief snow storm, the temperature has dropped to about 2 degrees outside (not seriously, but it feels like it). We actually had to suck it up and turn on the heat tonight because it was 58 degrees in this place when I walked in after work. Sorry kittens. So much for saving some money.

I've spent the last two days at a cultural proficiency meeting for work. It was mandatory-- if not, I totally would have skipped. I don't hate culture, but I've participated in about a million in services on the topic and took a class about it in grad school. I'm over hearing the same thing over and over again.

Two days at an in service means very little access to internet and even less access to a telephone. Frantic bride to be plus no access to the outside word= frustration.

On the wedding planning front, getting married should be easy, but we've experienced our fair share of hiccups.

We aren't discouraged, but when one thing appears to be going our way, we'll find out that the place we like is booked every night for the next three years. When we finally settle on a Friday wedding we find out that our church won't marry us on a Friday.

Seriously, why won't a catholic church marry us on a Friday? I'll be pondering that thought tonight.

Back to the drawing board.

On a more positive note, we are visiting another venue tomorrow night after work. I'm hoping that this one goes well, because it's the exact place that the fiance and I went on our first date. Wish us luck.

Have you tried Sundays? Sometimes they use the same discounts as Fridays. Just a though! Good luck!

I'm wondering the same thing about Catholic churches and Friday weddings. Hmm?

Yeah, we had that problem too.
Our initial date was the Friday of the weekend we are getting married because we wanted to have the wedding on our 3 year anniversary. But we ran into the whole "no weddings on Friday" thing so we had to bump it to Saturday...

How'd the venue search go today? What is wrong with the catholic churc? No weddings on a Saturday? Weird.
