It's Been Awhile

Wow, I haven't posted in forever.

I was feeling a little Debbie Downer this Thanksgiving- due to the fact that I was seriously sick this Thanksgiving AND plagued with the exact same cold last Thanksgiving- and I had to give myself a swift kick in the ass because......

I'm engaged to a fabulous man, I have an incredible family, my wedding plans are all falling into place, I have a good job, I have supportive friends, and I'm blessed.

Yeah, yeah, I couldn't breath out of not one, but both nostrils, despite insane amounts of Advil Cold and DayQuil, but things could be a lot worse.

I'm lucky that my only health problem at the moment is related to a cold. I am thankful for that (and if you've been reading for awhile, you know my hypochondriac self is in overdrive 24/7 worrying about some type of ailment).

Anyways, so the run of the events included:

Time with my family on Tuesday. I spent the night, tried hard to breath, and tried on bridesmaid dresses with my sister, who will be my maid of honor.

On Thanksgiving, the Fiance and I spent some quality time with my family, I tried to eat as much as I could, I tried to have a glass of champagne, and then we were off to the Fiance's holiday party about 30 miles up the road.

We were able to spend some time with the Fiance's family and while there, I asked his sisters to be my bridesmaids (seriously, my bridesmaid asking idea is super cute, and I'll share soon- I still need to ask three girls though).

On Friday, we vegged out at home and ran some errands. We managed to pick up all of our save the dates, invitations, and thank-you cards for under 200 bucks!

(God, I am blessed, this wedding planning stuff really is all coming together).

We decided to forego the 1,000 dollar invitations and will be using a super cute set from Michaels instead. 99% of our guest are going to throw the invitation away within the next year, so I see no point to shelling out more than a few hundred for invitations.

On Saturday, we spent the entire day in D.C.- first meeting with a priest and finding the church that we are going to use on our wedding day (yay), next visiting the shop John bought my ring at (they stole it for the next five days) and lastly, decorating his parents' house for Christmas and going out to dinner for his grandmother's 98th birthday.

Today, I've been sitting my ass on the couch watching football. GO STEELERS!

I am DREADING work tomorrow! I want my vacation back- although I was busy, I was feeling like crap 90% of the time so a redo would be quite nice.

Weird how so many people end up sick with a cold or flu over Thanksgiving. My husband tried his best to give me his cold, I am still fighting!
Glad so much of your wedding plans are falling in place. I love reading about them.
