The Bachelorette

Okay, I know that this is still quite far off but......

Is it crazy that I don't want to go crazy during my bachelorette party?

I'm not that old, yet I have no desire to bar hop, take shots or stay up until 4 a.m. ... and I'm not just referring to my bachelorette party.... I don't like to do that in real life either.

{I shouldn't mislead you and make you think that I don't like to drink. Drinking, I do. I just prefer drinking in pajamas}.

But, is it a rite of passage? Must we get trashed, wear a tube top and a penis necklace, and go nuts for the last time?

(It really would be the last time)...

Or can I keep dreaming about a bachelorette party that includes one cottage, several girls, the beach, sweat pants, and a picnic table outside?

All I can say is it's a good job you're not in England then, as that is the only type of 'Hen' night allowed! LOL

No way! I don't blame you at all! The beach with the girls sounds way more fun to me : )

I'm with ya... Know what we did? We all went bowling...the whole wedding party (men and women). There wasn't a bachelor/rette party. DH and I aren't big bar type people...we're like you...drinking at home in our pjs. :)

When Shaina (Mrs. Smith) got married, me and another bridesmaid took her to Miami for a weekend of fun. We did, at one point, make her wear a veil covered in condoms, but it was all in good fun. As soon as she handed them all out to unsuspecting folks, we went back to the hotel. Mainly we relaxed in the hotel, and ate a few good meals.

There was very very minimal crazy but lots of fun.

I'm with you. I don't want a big fuss either. I was thinking long weekend, maybe a bath house visit and just relaxation with my favorite girls.

For our official bachelor/bachelorette shindig we did a group wine tour and it was a ton of fun. My family was there (my husband's doesn't drink) and our friends so it was a lot of fun without being crazy. My grad school friends ended up throwing me another bachelorette and that got wild and crazy and it was fun in the end...but, it wasn't memorable really? If that makes sense.

Anyway, definitely do what you want, but if other people plan something in addition I would say go for that too.

You should do what you are most comfortable with. The cottage idea sounds great!

I didn't go too crazy at mine at all (I did make a few dollars dancing on the bar ...). I gave my maid of honor strict instructions that she could plan whatever she wanted, but I would not wear or be seen with any penises. I just asked her to keep it clean. It was so much fun to go out with all of my girlfriends. We had a great dinner, then out to 2 bars. You do it how you like it. It's your night.
