Skin Help!

Throughout my teens, I never had more than one pimple on my face at a time.

Now that I'm nearing my late 20's, I'm breaking out like crazy (gee, makes sense, right?).

It may not sound like much to you, but I have five little pimples on my face at this moment and it's driving me crazy. They look ugly, the make my coloring look uneven and I don't know what to do with them.

I NEED some HELP, please.

I have never worn foundation in my life, but I will wear concealer (probably the wrong kind) if I have a zit. The problem is-- whenever I wear concealer it just looks fake and obvious.

Can you recommend any great ideas to help in this area?

I'm open to make-up, face wash, zit cream etc. It has come to the point that I need professional (blogger of course) help.

If it helps, my current skin care regime includes-

Wake up, assume that the water in the shower washes my face and put on oil of olay moisturizer. Put on eye makeup, try to cover up zits but suck at it.

Before bed, I was my face with Exuviance cleansing gel and go to bed.

Oh girl! Same thing happened to me about a year ago. Are you on any kind of birth control? I had gone off mine and going back on helped a lot with my skin. I also tried Proactive and liked it, but it's pricey and hard to get since you typically have to order it. Acne Free is similar and I use it now and like it. It's less expensive and it's available at drugstores, Target, Wal Mart, etc.
You can also buy some 10% Benzoyl Peroxide gel or cream (store brand is OK)to put on the spot as soon as it appears. Don't pick! And if it starts to scab use Anti-biotic ointment.

Phew! I hope that helps :) I'm not a pro, just speaking from experience!

I had really bad acne growing up and went from dermatologist to dermatologist. When I was 21 years old (!) I finally found a dermatologist that was able to help me out. The cure? Dove soap? It's the only cleanser I allow near my face because it's gentle enough to clean and it doesn't dry my skin out. I use Aveeno moisturizer, which I have loved for years.

As for concealer, I LOVE Prescriptives. They actually mix a concealer especially for you and your skin tone - so it's guaranteed to match your face. I don't wear it very often, but it's perfect if I need a little something extra.

Good luck!

I agree with Christina & Lisa. Did you change your birth control? Also...other things could be changing your skin. My suggestion would be to see a dermatologist and get put on Retin A Micro (I swear by it). Then as far as concealor I use the Clinique concealor and just put a little on a spot. Then pat some powder over it to blend it in. And I use Dove Sensitive skin soap on my face in the morning but I use Clinique Foaming Mousse at night to help get any make up off. But I agree 100% on the Dove. :) Good luck. {HUGS}

I swear by noxema face wash... in the blue tub!! It's totally old school but I love it.

if it is just five pimples and it has only been for a short period of time, i would not recommend retin a micro. that's meant for people with serious skin problems and can have some side effects. try washing in the morning, and add an exfoliant to your routine 3x a week.

I wash my face twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. Makes a big difference. I also use two different face washes for each time.

I use 2 different concealers - 1 for blemishes and 1 for undereye circles.

For blemishes, I use Eco Erase. Love it!
