Tuxes

The fiance and I are scheduled to meet with the tux place later tonight...

My girls are wearing aubergine (i.e. deep purple) dresses.

I don't want to boys wearing deep purple, because it's a little prom-y

Do you think champagne vests/ties would be okay?  What about for the groom?

I need advice.

Absolutely! Champagne and aubergine will look fab together!

Mr. Newlywed just picked out black vests for everyone.

I wasn't so big on any colors at all, because I was afraid it would look prom-y no matte what.

Champagne is a nice off-set aubergine. I think it will look classic!

Champagne will be great!!! Unless you are using silver as an accent then use silver. Or...as Mrs. Newlywed did black works too. :) Good luck and let us know what you decide. XOXO

I have to go with Mrs. Newlywed and Gwen on this, go with the black. Champagne would be nice, but black may be better.

We went back and forth for the same reason, fear of the "prom" look. We ultimately went with the black vest and black tie. I, personally, felt that it looked more polished and classic. What are you doing for boutonnieres? You could consider using the boutonnieres to tie the colors in instead.

We didn't want to be too matchy either. So we just went with black for the groomsmen and white for my husband. It was pretty classy ;)

I think champagne would achieve the same effect...but I would definitely stay in the neutral family!
