Vices

I'm addicted to soda.

Not diet soda.  Full calorie, full sugar soda.

I could drink an entire 2 liter bottle in one day.

Easily.

I'm going to do an experiment.

Because I'm a huge cow right now and need to lose about one trillion pounds, I am going to cut out my beloved vice.

If I don't lose at least 2 pounds this week I'm going to go back to my old soda drinking ways.

Does anyone have any advice on how to handle sugar and caffeine withdrawals?

Oh geez yes - tea and lots of it - un-sweet and Excedrin migraine for the headaches you will get from the caffeine withdrawals. I used to be a major soda-a-holic but when I got sick this past year I couldn't have any and I haven't gone back since (I think it was a sign from god I had a problem!!) :) Best of luck to you - this is a big deal!!

Tea and seltzer--or just plain sparkling water. I need the fizz!

Drink tea sweatened with Sweet N Low or coffee if you can stand the taste. Good luck!!! Let us know how you do because I've been thinking of cutting soda out too. XOXO

Most pops have a zero-calorie match. Coke Zero, Sprite Zero, Lipton Diet..Zero? :) Whatever they are called. Dr. Pepper has one. They taste better these days, more like the real thing.

Water!!! Lot's of water! And keep the pain reliever handy, bc you'll probably get headaches.

I used to drink the full sugar stuff, then I stopped soda completely to lose the freshman 15...:(

I drink diet soda now, I don't like the taste of the real stuff anymore.

I switched to Coke Zero, it tastes pretty good. Now they're saying that even diet pop is bad for you, so I don't have a good answer. Good luck!

Okay, I read "Vices part two" before this one!

It's really hard to stop drinking soda...for sure. Bring a big bottle of water with you to work every day and start slow...alternate soda and water. If you don't like water, I recommend those flavor packets - low cal, of course- just to get yourself used to non-soda stuff.

I'm a big Coke drinker. The only thing to help with the withdrawals... lots and lots of Tylenol.

You should try the Diet 7UP Cherry Antioxidant - it cures my soda craving and is super yummy.

I kicked Coke. You can do it. I can't remember how, though. I might have had to switch to Hansen's or something, which is all natural.

A huge tip for you is to get more sleep. Your body may be dependent on that sugar to keep moving. More sleep will remove a lot of those types of cravings. I swear more sleep works. And I lost a lb in 2 wks doing THAT.
