Dumb Post

If you don't have cats, you can ignore this.

If you do.. please help me out...

Which is best...

Moving all of our stuff first and cats last?

OR

Moving cats first and stuff last?

I want to do whatever will stress them out less. They freaked when we moved into our current apartment and it was only a 50 foot walk.

Cats last. Because at least all their 'stuff' is there.

Or possibly in the middle. Don't want to freak them out and have NOTHING all of the sudden. But you also don't want them alone.

Sorry for doing that in 2 comments haha.

Cats last. Daisy did a bit better when we moved because her bed and toys were here. Also, our vet told us to keep her in 1 room, litter box and all, when we first moved for a day or two. It helps them adjust so he said! Good luck :)

Cats last. We moved everything out of one room, and left them in there with their box, food, toys, etc. So they had the whole room to run around in (a bedroom) with no one going in and out. Then after the movers were done, we went back and got them. They did really well.

I'm going with a different theory. The last time we moved Fritz came first. He had time to figure out the layout of the house and then would follow me from room to room seeing where everything was going. And he had to jump on every piece of furniture. Let us know what you decide!!! XOXO

We moved them first so that they would have a chance to get used to everything before all the chaos came over. It worked for us! Good luck!!

I think that we moved Pepper last. While we were moving the big stuff, she freaked out and so we put her in a crate facing the wall so she couldn't see what was going on in the house. Then we took her to the new place and instantly showed her where her box was and then let her walk around. It took a few days, but she eventually adjusted. Good luck!

Move the cats and all their stuff last. We moved all our stuff out of one of the bedrooms, and then just put the cats in their with their stuff so they wouldn't get freaked out by all the coming and going. They are going to be freaked out no matter what, but I think that if you bring them to a house that has all their stuff and their smells, they will be more comfortable.

I don't have cats, but I would say move them last. That's what we did the last time we moved...Spencer and all her stuff were the last thing to go. yeah, she was freaked out, but at least when we got to the new house, all the stuff was there and the familiar furniture and smells.

Good luck with you move!! Just think - you won't have to move again for a LONG time if you don't want to!!!
