Strange Things...

Isn't it strange that every time you go to Dunkin' Donuts, your coffee tastes different (or is it just me)?
I order the same thing every time.   A medium, french vanilla iced coffee, with skim milk and one sugar.
Every time I go in, my medium french vanilla tastes completely different.  Sometimes they try to pull the wool over my eyes and fill my coffee with cream and/or whole milk.
Homey don't play that.  I have eyes like a hawk and I can tell the difference between skim and full fat just by looking.
Other times, my coffee tastes like it's full of sugar.  Sometimes, there's none.  The Dunkin' Donuts of the world should really sit down and determine what 1 sugar should be equal to so that there is a little taste consistency between shops.
Another strange thing?  The wedding registry companies of the world.  The fiance and I have been blessed and have received a few things off of our registry (YAY)!   One common theme between all of our presents.....
....the ridiculously large packaging that they send your items in.  Yesterday, we received a small vegetable bowl and a small platter.  The box that they sent it in... no less than 3 feet by 3 feet.  Seriously, talk about overworking the postal workers and wasting cardboard.
They could have easily sent both of these items in a large shirt box.   I have a feeling that if someone buys me that kitchenaide mixer that I've been swooning over for so long, it's going to arrive on my doorstep in a refrigerator box.
The upside-- the cats love playing in the boxes.

I HATE over packaging too! It is so wasteful, yuck!

But my crazy cats love boxes too. I have no idea why I ever bought them toys when they are perfectly happy to play in a box or with a ball of paper. Do yours jump in boxes and just sit there for long periods of time? Mine do that and it is so odd...

As for Dunkin Donuts you've got me there. I don't live near one so it is Starbucks for me in the AM (at least 2 times a week, shame on me!). But I am totally with you on the skim/whole/creamer milk dilemma. You can't fool a coffee drinker!

I know EXACTLY what you mean about the over-packaging! I've found that Crate and Barrel is much worse about it than Macy's is, for what that's worth-- they packed salad servers and a pizza cutter in an especially unreasonable box. Don't worry too much about the Kitchen Aid, though...mine, at least, showed up in a plain old manufacturer box, not needlessly double-packaged. (Though it will be a fun day for the kitties if it ends up being an enormous box, right?)

Oh yah, the folks at dunkin donuts are ALWAYS trying to pull one over on me. I prefer the ones where you can just make your own now. Theres nothing worse than coffee you don't enjoy drinking!!!

What's even weirder tho: there are no DD's on the west coast
