THE HONEYMOON!

The husband and I left for our honeymoon the Monday following our wedding.

We were up at 3 (yes, ugh) am to catch a 6am flight out of Baltimore to Antigua!

Despite the fact that The Office made fun of Sandals resorts-- John and I decided to give it at shot. Neither of us had ever been to an all inclusive before, but we figured that it was worth a shot. We didn't want any surprises money wise, and we didn't spend an additional cent the entire week.

I'm glad we took a chance, because it was the best week of our lives and we can't wait to hit up another Sandals as soon as we gather the funds.

I tend to be a bit of a hotel snob (I lived in a hotel for more than 2 years combined as a child/teen -6 months in Connecticut, 1 year in New York City, and 6 months in Pittsburgh, PA- and my father is in the hotel business). As a result, I'll admit I'm a travel snob. The one time in our lives that we had to stay at a Days Inn, my mom ended up sleeping on a towel because she didn't want to catch fleas. Unreasonable? For sure. Can I help it? No. :)

Anyways, I'm not going to say that it was the most updated hotel that I've ever seen, but it was pretty darn great-- especially for the Caribbean. Five stars there, is not five stars here. It was clean, the people that worked their were amazing, and the bed was comfy.

The best part about the hotel? The food and drinks! It was all free and I probably gained 12 pounds over the course of our honeymoon. We ate lunch twice a day, sometimes and feasted on lobster (it was fabulous), shrimp, and fantastic steaks for dinner every night. The bar service never ended-- not even at the pools, because they had swim up pool bars! Is that sweet or what?

My husband and I got married at the Ocho Rios Sandals and I think it was the best idea that we had! The Sandals resorts have the best people working for them and they have wonderful food and drinks. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your honeymoon! You are definitely making me miss the beach!
