The Wedding: Part 3

Now, onto some of the reception details..

Blogger won't organize my pictures correctly, so this post lacks flow. Sorry about that.

Our wedding reception dinner was stations with a plated first course. The stations included a risotto station, a crab cake station, a meat carving station, and assorted potatoes and roasted vegetables. I was obsessed with the food. In fact, my favorite part about wedding planning was our tasting.

For the plated appetizer we had a salad with three soups. We loved the way that it looked.

Here's a picture of the centerpieces with the table numbers. The table numbers were all monogrammed and dated.

Here's a picture of our favors. You can't even tell what they are, but they were candy apples. They were also a royal pain in the butt. Because candy apple companies won't ship over the weekend, ours arrived the day before we left for the wedding. Thankfully, I finished all of the monogrammed stickers and bags weeks ahead of time so we assembled an assembly line and spent the night before our rehearsal dinner wrapping 150 apples. Much thanks to my mom who designed our monogram!

Here's another view of the centerpiece flowers.

Here's a picture of the bridesmaids bouquets. They were stunning-- this picture doesn't even do them justice. I was beyond thrilled with my bouquets.

Here's the cake-- it was a very simple cutting cake. The cake was a last minute decision because we honestly didn't even want one. The bottom of our cake was actually fake-- we served the guests giant sheet cakes from Costco (the vanilla with cheesecake filling). No one knew the difference and we received a ton of compliments about how good our cake was. Ha, if they only knew.

Here's a random picture of our set up. I love how it all turned out. My mom insisted upon the amber lighting to help make it look more glamorous and I think that the room looked great. Initially, we selected a different ballroom because we hated the mural in the ballroom that we ended up using. At the end of the day, we fell in love with the mural and the room and we were so glad that we switched rooms at the last minute.

I'll post some reception pictures tomorrow!

What a beautiful reception hall! I absolutely love the colors that you chose. The bouquet was gorgeous, and I think the cake choice was a great idea!
