was a banner year! It was, without a doubt, one of the best, most exciting, and busiest years yet.
Without further adieu, I....
1. Took a girls trip to Boston where we drank a lot, ate a lot, shopped a lot and worked a little.
2. Purchased our first house and started our first remodel/DIY projects!
3. I turned 28
4. I celebrated the summer with a fantastic bridal shower and bachelorette party
5. I married the man of my dreams
6. I had THE MOST phenomenal wedding
7. I spent 8 days of absolute bliss in Antigua
8. I celebrated my first married Thanksgiving and Christmas with my husband.
I'm sad to see 2009 go, because I know it will be hard year to top. I look forward to trying, though!

I'm usually not a big holiday decorator. I go all out for Halloween, but I usually think a tree is sufficient for Christmas.
All that changed this year-- I've married a Christmas decorating fanatic and he's turned me on to the idea of red and green.
Although I have not gone Christmas decorating crazy, yet (give it a few years)-- we did add a few things to our rotation this year. The fact that we hosted a Christmas party on December 11th further motivated me to get off my butt and to get decorating.
The banister up the stairs. Ooh, Ahh.
Our lights-- I love filling them up with fun stuff. This year, we've got red, green, and silver glitter balls. (BTW, I certainly rearranged the seam on that lamp after taking this picture).
Our stockings, which were made my John's mom. The cat stocking cracks me up and John picked out the pattern. My mother-in-law gave me these at my bridal shower.
Just a little something we have on our bookcase. Next to our wedding pictures of course. =]
If you sent us a Christmas card, we've got it right there in the kitchen.
Do you spot the nativity scene in our China Cabinet- that was a wedding gift.
Yeah, Yeah, Christmas is over and I'm just now showing you our tree.
So sue me, I was busy.
Plus, everyone loves Christmas and I'm all for extending the season.
(also-- blogger is annoying me and it's uploading my photos backwards. Sorry)
My favorite accessory and the resident cuddle-bug-- SAGE...
The tree after we finished decorating.
I really got into trimming the tree this year...
I'm five feet, five but I look like a dwarf compared to the tree my husband picked out.
Here I am stringing the lights!
This was the first year since living with my parents that I have had a real tree. We figured that our since we're living in our first home, during our first year of marriage, we need our first real tree. It's been a year full of firsts and we're enjoying every minute of it (hence the slow blogging)!

I know this is long, but try to get through it-- I need advice!
Although I've shared several of our wedding pictures (and I have many more to share), I'm actually slightly disappointed with our wedding pictures and our photographer.
She did get some fabulous shots, but there were just as many shots that made me go, huh?
She has/had fantastic ratings and a superb reputation, which is part of the reason that I'm upset. Out of the 545 pictures that we were given, at least 30 of them still contain "red eye." Plus, 80% of the group shots are off centered and far from perfect. The lighting is okay, but not great. My parent's friend, who isn't even a professional photographer, questioned the flash that she was using in the church (he didn't tell us this until after the wedding). My sister had to remind her to take pictures of the details and of the food. Prior to the wedding, I gave her a list of what I was looking for and I think we're lacking at least a quarter of my "must have" shots.
In our initial meetings with one another, I stressed to her that more than anything, I was looking for candid shots. There are approximately 2 candid shots of John and I dancing at our wedding (to be fair, we have about 200 candid pictures of our guests, just not many of us), 1 candid shot of us cutting our cake, and 3 from the toasts. There is 1 picture of me throwing my bouquet and 1 of John with the garter. I don't think that we have a single picture of the girl who caught the bouquet....
I don't want to sound like a total jerk, because there are a lot of great pictures of me and my friends and of John and his friends. Unfortunately, there is not a single shot of John and I that makes me go wow (aside from a few shots of us leaving the church in the rain).
anyways, you get my point and I've been stewing over this since before Thanksgiving.
I decided that I was probably being a brat and I decided to let it go.
However, more recently we were watching our wedding video and we noticed that the photographer took a lot more shots in the video than we actually received/saw. She was in our wedding video pointing and clicking and we cannot find many of the pictures that she appeared to be taking during our wedding video.
At this point, we own every picture and have copies of every proof on paper and on a CD. We do need to meet with her again to design our professional album.
Is it worth rocking the boat to email her and inform her that we were watching the wedding video and it appeared as though many of the photos that she took were not on the CD that we received? I do want an explanation as to why we only have two pictures of our first dance and 1 of my father and I dancing. Is it fair to ask if the other pictures that she took just did not turn out? The lady seriously has a 5.0 out of 5.0 rating on Wedding Wire, which makes me nervous about complaining at all.
What would you do if you were in my shoes? Help please!

The husband and I did not see each other before the ceremony, but we were able to get some group shots done beforehand.

Me with my parents..
This one is one of my favorites. I love this picture with my parents...
All the girls...
Do I look nervous yet?
I'm not too sure about it, but it seems to be a fan favorite so far.
(Blogger will not upload my pictures in the appropriate manner so sorry that they are not in order).
I kinda like this pictures-- that's my sister over on the far right. I think it's cute.
This one looks better when it's blown up, but it's a cute idea.
My dress from the back...
My photographer was desperate to get pictures of me getting dressed. As you can see, I wasn't totally into that for obvious reasons. The picture is funny though. =]
This was more of my style! Call me modest, I don't care.

I'm probably going to bore you this week with all the wedding pictures.
It's just too hard to narrow down my favorites....
