Annoyed by T.V.

Did I miss the memo?

Since when did ALL the freaking shows on T.V. extend to two hour specials,

Thinking is hard for me right now (I haven't been sleeping well), but I seem to remember a time when shows were a half hour or an hour long (TOPS).

Now, shows can't seem to be long enough. One hour? Please, that's so 1999.

I try to enjoy So You Think You Can Dance -- but gosh darn it, it takes up three hours a week just to do so.

Same goes for The Bachelor, The Biggest Loser, American Idol, etc.

It almost appears as though the networks are having a competition for who can take up the most time in one week. Sometimes I can't even find an hour in a day, how am I supposed to keep up with all of my favorite shows when they occupy at least 12 a week?

Another television related annoyance...

Several of the shows mentioned above, ahem, The Biggest Loser and So You Think You Can Dance used to wait months between seasons. I got excited when a new season started.

Lately, they've been waiting 2.3 seconds before airing the next season. The shows begin to lose their luster when they are always on (and always on for 4 hours a week no less).

The biggest loser is currently DVRing as we speak, but I'd rather go to sleep early than watch it right now. I'm still burnt out from last season.

I'm feeling the same way about Project Runway. I feel like we just ended PR and all of the sudden there's a season premier.
am I hallucinating? Didn't it just end???
