What a World

This may be a controversial topic, but so what, it's been getting on my nerves lately--

Do you know how hard it is to rescue and/or adopt a dog?  There are home visits and long, arduous applications.  You must have a fenced in backyard, you must own your own home, you may not work long hours, and you must compete with at least 5 other families to gain ownership of a dog.

Do you know how easy it is to have a child?  There are no applications, there are no home visits, and you do not need to prove that you are competent parent.   Another child was found dead in a park in Baltimore.  This one was two months old and his mom just left him there wrapped up in a trash bag.  Mom has already been involved with social services 4 times.  How is it that these people are allowed to breed and continue breeding?  It baffles me that this happens more and more?

If we can control how pets are adopted, why can't we control who is allowed to bring a child into this world?  It should be the three strikes from social services and you're out rule.

I've always thought there should be some sort of test people need to take before they can procreate. I wish there were, it would eliminate horrible things like this from happening. Ugh...Some people are just disgusting.

Three strikes, in my opinion, is a little generous. "No Child Left Behind" should have meant a test for the parents, not the children.

I agree. It's crap.

Good point flashy soup- three strikes is too generous! We need to invent a pregnancy competence test.

No kidding, parents need to apply for a license to procreate. It is a privilege to be a parent, not a right!!

Sorry, I am super bitter--I spent a year prosecuting child abuse/neglect cases. Some instances, the parent had their parental rights terminated as to 5-6 other kids before! And yet they still had more kids. Horrible.

I couldn't believe how hard it was to adopt a pet! And apparenty I was seen as an unfit parent...because I never got approved. Instead I just went to a breeder and got a puppy. No questions asked.

I supposed it's the same with adopting children. It can takes years and mountains of paperwork and interviews to be approved while any idiot can get pregnant. It's kind of sad really.
