Ten on Tuesdays!

1.  If you could travel back in time, would you?  What decade would you visit?
I think it would be fun to live in the 17 or 1800's.  I used to love the Little House on the Prairie books and I would always pretend that I was living in that time period as a child.  Would it be fun to churn butter and wear old fashioned dresses? Maybe.  I sure wanted to find out.  Also, how fun was playing Oregon trail? So fun!

2. What was your best Halloween costume?  (fun to make? most creative?)
Well, my mother is obsessed with Halloween.  She was anti princess and cheerleader, she thought that Halloween = scary costumes.  I was a baby one year, but she put a faux bullet hole on my forehead to ghoul things up a bit.  Once I went to college, I enjoyed the skankier costumes.  Playboy bunny? Sure.  G.I. HO? You know it.  I cringe now.  My favorite recent costume was when the hubs and I dressed up as dead prom king and queen.

3. Do you like your name?  If you weren't called by your name, what would you want to be called?
I do like my name.  I was born in 1981 and Ashleys were few and far between that year and for one or two years after that.  In fact, I never met another Ashley until I was 20 years old and in college (that's saying a lot because I've moved 14 times)!  Now it seems like everyone is named Ashley!

4. In the past year, what is the BEST recipe you made.  Please share it!
This is easy-- the Thai Chicken lettuce wraps that my husband and I DEVOUR every time I make them.  I'll post the recipe this week!

5. Look around – what is the nearest object or picture hanging on the wall?
the phone. I'm at work (an elementary school)

6. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?  Would you recommend it?
Good Question-- we go to the movies so rarely.  Actually, now that I think about it we did go recently.  We saw Dear John.  It was okay.

7. Did you go to summer camp?  Will you/do you send your kids to camp?
I sure did.  Despite the fact that I'm girly as all get out- I used to be quite adventurous.  In fact, in high school I used to go to "Awesome Adventures" camps (they were based in Connecticut).  During one such week I white water canoed 17 miles, white water rafted 7, and hiked 14 miles up a mountain in Maine.  Man, I was sporty.

8. What kind of ringtone do you have?
One of the standard ones, but I'm hoping to change it soon.  I used to have Kenny Chesney's, 'Summertime" and Carrie Underwood's, "All American Girl."

9. Where is the farthest away from home you have ever been?
Probably California, Mexico or Antigua.  I'm bad at math- you can figure it out if you want. ;)

10. Has anyone ever written a song or a poem for or about you?
Yes, my husband actually wrote me a poem for our first valentines day.  It was super funny and totally cute.  I'm actually going to frame it (I should get on that.. it's been three years), but I don't want to embarrass him.  Maybe I'll scrapbook it instead.

You have adorable kitties! :-)

What is it about movies nowadays? Even the ones with a ton of buzz seem to be underwhelming, definitely not worth the ridiculous price they cost.

sigh. I just sounded so old.

I love Little House on the Prairie and Oregon Trail. I remember the new version was so cool with it's awesome graphics, I tried playing it not too long ago and was like really? I loved this.
