Ten on Tuesday

It's time for Ten on Tuesday!

1. How did your parents decide on your name?
I'm pretty sure that my godmother chose my name.  My dad wanted me to be Allison or Rebecca and my mom didn't.  My aunt suggested Ashley Nicole and my parents went with it.

2. Do your initials (First, Middle, Last) spell out anything fun/funny?
No-- but before I was married my initials were ANA.

3. Did you take your middle name from childhood or did you take your maiden name as your middle name? (If unmarried, what do you plan to do?)
I kept Nicole and ditched my maiden name for two reasons.  1. My maiden name and my current last name sounds like a gas station when you say them together.  2. I like the name Nicole so why not keep it?

4. Are you or will you name your children thematically (ie. same first letter, all of same origin…)
Not purposely.

5. Did you decide on baby names as a little girl? Did you stick to them or change your mind?
I did, but I don't still like them.  For the last 20 years my all time favorite name was Kayleigh.  I doubt I would ever use that in real life nowadays.

6. Does your family have any names that have been passed down through generations?
Nope.  We are originals.

7. Do you look at the meaning of the name or just the name itself?
I look at the name itself but I may briefly check the meaning.  I wouldn't name my kids anything that stands for idiot, hobag, jerk, etc.

8. Do you name pets with human names (Sally, Henry) or with pet names (Fluffy, Mr. Bo Bo)?
My cats are Sage and O'Snap.  I doubt anyone would name their kid O'Snap.  If you are an earthy crunchy hippy you may name your child Sage.  Our dog is Polly, short for Polamalu.

9. Are there any names that you have an affinity or dislike for based on a childhood experience/someone you once knew?
I really dislike Missy and Katie thanks to my childhood.

10. What are some of your favorite names? Why?
Well, my favorite girls names are: Reagan, Madelyn, Ella, Reese, Riley
My favorite boys nams are: Zachary, Brayden, Jacob
Don't steal them.

My initials spelled MAN before I was married! I never understood why my parents didn't think of that before naming me! I couldn't get anything monogrammed!

We love the name Jacob, Jake as a nickname, but it doesn't flow well with our last name. It's one of my all-time fav names though

Every time you post I find something else we have in common! My middle name is Nicole, and my married initials spell ANA. How funny!

Haha seeing all those name questions, on the radio this morning they wanted people to call in with names they thought were HOTT. LOL And the name Nicole does rock!
